About the position: We are seeking full time and part time Certified Veterinary Technicians to join our Emergency and Critical Care Department.
Never worked in ER before? DON'T worry. We provide training, your skills will transfer over.
- Proficient with patient triage, procedure workups, admitting & rounding patients, and discharges
- Bedside nursing care for patients admitted to the hospital
- Has knowledge of common disease processes and pharmacology
- Proficient with medical calculations
- Comfortable administering, monitoring, and recovering patients under anesthesia and sedation (training provided for unstable patient anesthesia)
- Assists with providing general husbandry and inventory for ECC patients and service
- Training available to place central lines, nasogastric tubes, and urinary catheters.
Shift: Full-time (36-40 hr/week) Part-time (20-32hr/week)
Currently Hiring for: swing shift 10/12hr shifts (2pm-2am) or (2pm-12am) and overnight (7pm-7am) or (9pm-7am)
Personal Requirements:
- Minimum of 18 years old
- Minimum 1 year working as a veterinary technician. Preferred experience in an emergency and/or specialty hospital
- Graduate from an accredited AVMA program. Preferred CVT, LVT, RVT, and/or VTS (additional compensation provided for VTS)
- Is detail oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced working environment
- Has a high commitment to providing exceptional patient care
- Has excellent client communication skills
- Must be well-spoken, professional, approachable and maintain an optimistic outlook
- Must have the ability to support and foster an environment of diversity, inclusion, collaboration, and empathy
- Must have good interpersonal relationship and communication skills
Physical Effort: Work requires lifting (up to 40 lbs), carrying and restraining animals, walking or standing for extended periods of time and frequently working on the floor.
Compensation: $25 - $30/hr based on experience, overnight differential provided. Additional compensation for those with advanced licensing such as a VTS.
